Ananad Jon's Letter From Jail

This is a letter from jail by Anand Jon to writer Sharon Waxman.

The 34-year-old fashion designer faces sex charges based on complaints in three states from 28 models, some in their midteens. Accusations from 20 of these women have resulted in 59 criminal counts that could go to trial as soon as the end of August in Department 102 of Los Angeles Superior Court. They include charges of forcible rape, sexual penetration by a foreign object, sexual exploitation of a child, sexual battery, and forcible oral copulation.
Whatever the outcome of this trial, Jon will face still more charges in New York and Texas. In a telephone interview with Waxman, he has said he is “100 percent innocent.” His letter has been edited for length and clarity.
I have not seen the sky in months – six, maybe seven. Kind of easy to lose track of time and yet be unbearably aware of its existence. I am awakened at around 5:30 a.m. usually and on court days (once or twice a month so far) about 4:30 a.m. and then remain in shackles while being “sergeant-escorted” to a tiny moving metal vertical coffin in a van and transported underground to the downtown court.
The time in front of the judge is the only time I am not in shackles and handcuffed. The wait in the holding tanks, usually 3 feet by 7 feet high, is among those disorienting experiences that are carved into your sensory memory, some days as long as 18 hours, surrounded in filth of both indefinable and unidentifiable sources.
Welcome to the strangest episode of my blessed life as I near one year in L.A. County jail.
There is a possibility I may not survive this ordeal. I realized this most blatantly while in a holding tank at court, the only place where you actually “interact” with another inmate with only steel bars separating you. “I’m glad we got to chat, Don Juan, ’cause based on what that detective said about you on TV, I was going to cut you,” grinned the inmate. Any doubts I had about him joking evaporated as he pulled out a homemade “shank” (jail term for “mini-knife”), which he had somehow snuck past two strip searches while being handcuffed.
The threats against me escalated over the first five months, and it got so bad that my food was being kicked around and there were all-night howling sessions and hurling sessions of substances with such aggression that it is better not discussed. One deputy demanded why I eat kosher and how it meant to him that a rabbi spit into the food as a blessing. When I was arrested, the detective’s severe racial and anti-Semitic comments echoed – the prejudice, the bigotry gave me a taste of what my ancestors endured.
Before I was moved to total solitary confinement, I was on a “high profile” row and was constantly made fun of due to my total ignorance of “crime as a culture.” A local drug pusher to the clubs who, being familiar with my case, commented, “I can see why they hate you…It’s your image and attitude. You come off as the perfect party guy, and these chicks, even if they don’t get to make it big, at least expect guys to pay for them to get high, party, and get laid, and that’s what they expect. And what do they actually get? A workaholic into passion and meditation who avoids substances and wakes up at 6:30 in the morning.”
Yoga, meditation, and the love of my family and God have sustained me as I grapple with blankets that have blood stains dried in tie-dyed patterns and battle nocturnal visits from entities that include, but are not limited to, rodents and insects (that I have not even seen in the jungles of India!). How much of it is my imagination? I’m not really sure. But the whole thing feels like a Stephen King novel turned into a movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
A fair trial is a wonderful concept but more of a satire in my case, based on how this has been manipulated and has been anything but fair. No one besides the parties involved (traditionally “two”) knows IF intimacy/sex even happened or much less if it was consensual or not. Wouldn’t one call 911? Get a rape kit or at least STD testing? Would anyone continue to follow, travel, live with someone who allegedly assaulted them?
How can one defend himself without access to his last eight years of life, witnesses, records, paperwork? And how is one supposed to possibly fund all of this without being able to work? The few hours that one can get a private investigator at $125/hr inside to meet, how effective can that be? All the while both hands of mine chained down to the table so I can’t even flip a page or write notes!
More ironic is the fact that none other than the very chaperone who was there to protect me, today she and her daughter are among the leaders of the pack.
A “fair trial” seems more like a “fairy tale” when ALL the exculpatory evidence has been kept hidden from the grand jury by the prosecution. When you find out about witnesses being coaxed by the detectives. Conveniently the texts and all traces of favorable evidence have “disappeared” from the cell phones and computers seized.
I realize that this is the test. While some get a trial of fire, some inherit an inferno, and all one can choose is how we face these adversities. Either we do so in despair or in dignity. A hundred lies cannot change the truth.
I do know that there is a purpose to all of this and it is beyond my own exoneration. God clearly had bigger plans for me than just influencing the hemlines, and though I can and will win this ordeal, I may not survive it, and this makes me concerned about the pain my loved ones will go through.
It is a fascinating concept that I think more about them than myself. My pencil (I only get two per week) is running out of lead, so I also learn patience. Maybe that’s what it’s all about – taming the ego and revealing love.

Love and Light,

Anand Jon

It is Better to Light a Candle....

Car at the bottom of the hill

The car suddenly broke down in the middle of nowhere. He crawled underneath to see what the trouble was.she crawled uinderneath to hold the flashlight for him.
It was quiet cozy under there and after a while, they forgot about the car repairs.suddenly a voice said, "And just what do you think you are doing ? "

Looking up they saw the local village constable.
Why we are - er - repairing the back axle ", The young man stammered.
"Well, while you are down there, you had better look at the breaks as well,"Replied the law. "Your car has been at the bottom of the hill for the past half hour."

Two Waiters and an Alcoholic

Two waiters were standing at a table over which a loaded customer had fallen asleep. said one, " I have alreay awakened him twice. Now I am going to awaken him for the third time.
" Why don't you chuck him out ? " asked the other waiter.
" The devil I will , " said the first waiter.
" I've got a good thing going for me. Every time I wake him up he pays his bill . "

WITH THIS MORNING

My bones erect themselves once more and vertically I challenge earth's gravity against the weight of reality pushing me down. All my senses scream for emancipation from the Bond's of Man's Law ; to erupt through the coils of skin, to reach out, to find some paradise. I grab hold and slowly drive on, moving into oncoming moments. Each face and each word, each touch of human decency seems to eclipse the drama and the tragedy of my sin. With this morning, I choose to walk through the doorway into bold mortality with genuine sincerity. I admit though some days are less sincere than others. Yet it is here amongst us all, that sacred something of human touch, that scent of human civility when you peer into the windows of a friends soul, there you will find unabashed truth, there we learn to transcend and to evolve, to hold onto life once again through faith and hope.

A Song for the Child

There is a tribe in Africa where the birth date of a child is counted - not from when they are born, nor from when they are conceived - but from the day that the child was a thought in its mother's mind.

And when a woman decides that she will have a child, she goes off and sits under a tree, by herslef, and she listens until she can hear the song of the child that wants to come. And after she's heard the song of this child, she comes back to the man who will be the child's father, and she teaches it to him. And then, when they make love to physically concieve the child, some of that time they sing the song of the child, as a way to invite it.

And then, when the mother is pregnant, the mother teaches the child's song to the midwives and the old women of the village, so that when the child is born, the old women and the people around her sing the child's song to welcome it. And then, as the child grows up, the other villagers are taught child's song. If the child falls, or hurts its knee, someone picks it up and sings its song to it. Or perhaps the child does something wonderful, or goes through the rites of puberty - then as a way of honoring this person, the people of the village sing his or her song.

And it goes this way through their life - in marriage, the songs are sung, together. And finally, when this child is lying in bed, ready to die, all the villagers know his or her song, and they sing - for the last time - the song to that person.

No Justification for Sin

No justification for sin
Titus D’ Cruz, Trivandrum

IF WE SAY WE HAVE NO SIN, WE DECEIVE OURSELVES
Everyone in this world is a sinner. The evangelist says, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and there is no truth in us. But if we confess our sins to God, He will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrong doing.” (I Jn. 1: 8-9)
The consciousness that we are sinners makes us worthy to approach Jesus. Jesus said, “I have not come to call respectable people to repent, but outcasts.” (Lk. 5: 32) These words give great hope and expectation to us, sinners. God has no sin. Therefore, those who believe in Jesus can never justify sin. Because, “He has not commanded anyone to be ungodly, and has not given anyone permission to sin” (Eccl. 15: 20). We find people creating problems for themselves, their families, their societies, their countries and even to whole world by doing great sins and justifying themselves without any remorse. All over the world we find people and organizations justifying sins. They bind themselves with the shackles of sin. Only Jesus Christ and his words can save them from the slavery of sin. That is why Jesus said that his words should be preached all over the world. The reason is that Jesus Christ is the sole atonement for the sins of the entire world. God says “he is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 Jn. 2:2).

Those who live under the slavery of sin will never have peace, nor give peace to others. Take the case of the prodigal son. He returned to God only when he lost his inner peace. Jesus alone can give us back our lost peace.

“Peace is what I give you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does” (John 14:27).

The peace Jesus gives us is not the same as the world gives. The peace world gives is what we get when we disobey the words and do as we like. Whereas the peace we get from Jesus Christ is by obeying the words of God. The peace which the world gives us will lead us to wounds, pains, miseries, and disappointment.

“Be sure, your sin will find you out” (Num. 32: 23). God says through the prophet Isaiah “If only you had listened to my command! Then blessings would have flowed for you like a stream that never goes dry” (Isa. 48: 18). Man has a tendency to do sin. The Word of God warns us, “Sin is crouching at your door; it wants to rule you, but you must overcome it” (Gen. 4: 7). We are surrounded by people and circumstances that tempt us to commit sin. Hence wisely avoid such people. “Flee from sin as from a snake for if you approach sin it will bite you. Its teeth are lion’s teeth and destroy the souls of men”. (Eccl. 21:2).

God will be with us when we keep away from sin. When God is with us prosperity and success will follow. When we become the slaves of sin and justify sin we will face failures. God says, “As long as they didn’t sin against their God, they prospered, for God who hates iniquity is with them. But when they departed from the way in which he had appointed for them, they were utterly defeated in many battles and were led away captive to a foreign country.” (Judith 5: 17-18)

Jesus is so kind and compassionate. He is ready to receive any great sinner wholeheartedly and shower His blessings if he returns to Him with true repentance. If we have taken decision to live with Jesus and for Jesus as per his words, at least now on, Jesus will tell us so, “As you have been a byword of cursing among the nations, O! How house of Juda and house of Israel, so will I save you and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong” (Zach. 8:13). “Surely I will bless you and multiply you” (Heb. 6: 14). “And I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing” (Gen. 12: 2).

To obtain the showers of blessing from God, let us approach Jesus Christ, the Saviour of man kind with repentance.
“Keep your life free from love of money and content with what you have for he said I will never fail you nor forsake you. Hence we can confidently say the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid, what can man do to me?” (Heb. 13: 5-6).

A Priest and a Cab Driver

A priest and a cab driver arrived at the Pearly Gates at the same time. After interviewing both, St. Peter opened the gates and let the cab driver into heaven, but he told the priest to have a seat and await further consideration.
Outraged, the priest complained, "How can you let that man into heaven before me ? I was a priest for 50 years, and I gave thousands of sermons ! All he did was drive a car around the city. ! "
"That is right," St.Peter answered. " And when you preached, people slept. But when this man drove, people prayed. "

I

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost......I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

II

I walked down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place
But, it isn't my fault !
It still takes a long time to get out

III

I walk down the same street
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I see it there
I still fall in because it's a habit !
I know where I am
It is my fault !
I get out pretty quickly !

I walk down the same street
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I walk around it.

Wisdom From Amal Rozario

Wisdom from Amal Rozario

Last weekend, I met Jose for a cup of coffee. He told about his latest experimentations with facebook, internet friends, making movies and writing articles. I told him that I will write an article that he can publish in his blog. He replied 'You always tell that, but you r busy'. I reminded myself that I will write him an article sooner than later. And so here is my 1st article for Jose.

Ever thought that we are all connected? When we see other people, strangers especially, what do we feel? If you are like me, probably nothing. I am starting to think we all are connected because we have so many common things. We all share the planet earth. We live, breath, eat, sleep, we have to work for a living directly or indirectly. Our needs are more or less similer.most of all, we all came from the same source.now what? Why would I say that?. While its night and day to see the differences we have based on the region we hail from, our religious affiliations, our language, culture, beliefs and so on, take a moment to think this possibility. here are my supportig facts.

1. we all know that the worlds population is increasing. We see that the population rose from 5 billion to 6 very recently? I remember when India crossed the 1 billion mark. If population grows with time, it sure was less when we go back in time. And if we intrapolate back enough, we can see we all came from a few people. may be from one family. ( Adam and Eve perhaps? )

2. I recently saw a national geographic program about the human genome project. The author spenser studies dna variations among humans of different groups and based on the mutations, he kind of traced back geographically where we all came from. He traced that we all came from central africa. The first humans migrated north into asia. One branch came south to India and went as far as Australia. One brance migrated north west and became Europeans. One branch north east into Russia, and came to America walking over ice, into the Latin America, long before Columbus discovered the new world. He traced all this based on DNA mutations found in people from different parts of the world.

How long have we existed? Biblical historians say its about 5000 years. Evolutionists puts the number around 40,000, before we branched off form apes. When I went to Niagara Falls, I learnt 2 things that facinated me.
1.The great lakes which feed Niagra will all drain to the ocean in 1500 year. After 1500 years, there will be no Niagara Falls. Can you imagine that? The base of the falls erodes inwards at a rate of 3 feet per year. Which means, the Niagara Falls itself is moving at 3 feet per year! What is my point? We are living in a world that is so dynamically changing every moment. And human life from our first parents to now is just a speck. In that speck is our complexities and difficulties and differences as white, black and brown(?), latino, tamil & malayalees and gultes and devar and pallar and so on.give me a break!

So the next time you see a person, see him or her as your long lost distant cousin. and then, think how you feel.

Plans and Aims (Poster)

Million Little Pieces

The Young Man came to the Old Man seeking counsel.
I broke something, Old Man.
How badly is it broken?
It's in a million little pieces.
I'm afraid I can't help you.
Why?
There's nothing you can do.
Why?
It can't be fixed.
Why?
It's broken beyond repair. It's in a million little pieces.

PRACTICE : EXPLORING A LIFE OF SIMPLICITY

Arrange for some time to sit quietly in a place of refuge. Allow yourself to become calm and attentive, using the breath to settle yourself into your body and heart.

Then, in a gentle way, review your current life. Bring to mind each of several areas, including your work, your relationships or family life, your finances, your leisure activities, your possessions, your goals, and your spiritual life. One by one, as each area comes to mind, ask yourself the following questions: What would it be like to simplify this part of my life ? What could I let go easily ? What could I do to make this part of my life more quiet and simple ?

Reflect on the choices that arise within you. Notice which feel immediately comfortable and which feel difficult or frightening. The object is not necessarily to change anything immediately. In this moment you are simply noting where you desire more simplicity in your life and where this is possible. How can you make room for this simplicity ? Take as much time as you need with each area of your life, becoming aware of what steps you might take. Then make a resolution to make changes in each area.

From the book 'How, Then, Shall We Live ?' by 'Wayne Muller' Author of 'Legacy of the Heart'.

How to be happy ,Though human

" Ours is a world where people don't know what they want and are willing to go through hell to get it ".
- Donald R Marquis

If you are not basically happy, consider the following suggestions for increasing your happiness, some of which are based on the work of David Meyers, a Psychologist and Professor at Hope College in Holland , Michigan.

* Relax often. You will reduce stress and balance your spirit.

* Get adequate sleep. Your body needs the recharging sleep provides. Don't shortchange yourself; You won't be at your best.

* Develop close relationships. Share love and positive feelings. We're social beings ; We don't exist very well in a Vaccum.

* Identify your beliefs. Affirm your beliefs and your relationship to God (or your own Higher Power). Walk in alignment with your beliefs.

* See life and yourself in perspective. Don't catastrophize problems or overreact to everyday concerns.

* Be optimistic. What have you got to lose by expecting things to work out well ?

* Have mutual respect . You can't expect others to respect you if you don't have self - respect. At the same time , respect others. Realize that everyone including you deserves respect.

* Take pride in your work . Realize that each person's work - no matter what the task - is a contribution to society.

* Set realistic goals and expectations. What can you reasonably expect from any given endeavor or situation ?.

* Identify joyful activities and engage in them regularly.

Irena Gut Opdyke

IRENA GUT OPDYKE (May 5, 1918 – May 17, 2003) was born Irena Gut into a Catholic family in the town of Kozienice in Central Poland, and studied nursing. During the German occupation of western Poland and the Russian occupation in the east, Irena joined a Polish underground unit. She was spotted by Russian troops, beaten, raped, and forced to work in a Russian medical unit. She escaped, only to be captured later by the Germans and forced to work in a munitions plant. An elderly SS officer Eduard Rugemer arranged her transfer to lighter duties in an army mess hall, which happened to afford her both a direct view into a Jewish ghetto, and a chance to slip food under its fence. When Rugemer was reassigned to Lvov and then Tarnopol (in what is now Ukraine), he requisitioned Irena as his housekeeper. There she supervised a laundry staffed by Jews, and when she heard that they were to be transported to a death camp, she undertook to hide 12 of them in Rugemer’s own villa and provide them with food and clothing. At a displaced persons camp after the war, Irena Gut met her future husband, a U.N. staffer named William Opdyke. They settled in Southern California, where she became an interior decorator. She did not talk about the war until she got a phone call as part of a survey on how many people doubted that the Holocaust ever happened. She began telling her story in schools, and in 1982 Irena Gut Opdyke was named by the Israeli Holocaust Commission as one of the Righteous Among the Nations, a title given to gentiles who risked their lives by aiding and saving Jews during the Holocaust, and was presented with the Israel Medal of Honor (Israel’s highest tribute), in a ceremony at Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. The Vatican has given her a special commendation, and her story is part of a permanent exhibit at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.
The production is looking for relatives and descendants of the Jews Irena saved.

Where The Mind is without Fear

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action---
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

Forgive Them Anyway

People are often unreasonable, illogical,
and self - centered
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you
of selfish,ulterior motives :
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
false friends and some true enemies :
succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank
people may cheat you :
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone
could destroy overnight ;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous ;
Be happy anyway .

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow,
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Attitude

I woke up today, excited over all I get to
do before the clock strikes midnight.
I have responsibilities to fulfill today.
I am important.
My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today I can complain becaue the weather is rainy
or I can be thankful that the grass is
getting watered for free

Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money
or I can be glad that my finances encourage me
to plan my purchases wisely and guide me
away from waste.
Today I can grumble about my health
or I can rejoice that I am alive.
Today I can lament over all that my parents
didn't give me when I was growing up or I can
Feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Today I can cry because roses have thorns
or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.
Today I can mourn my lack of friends
or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover
new relationships.

Today I can whine because I have to go to work
or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do.
I can complain because I have to go to school or
eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new
tidbits of knowledge.

Today I can murmer dejectedly because I have to do
housework or I can feel honored because the Lord
Has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul.
today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped.
And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping.
what today will be like is up to me.
I get to choose what kind of day I will have.

Empty Yourself First

"A famous scholar came to learn about Zen.The teacher served him tea. He filled the cup with tea,and carried on pouring so that the cup overflowed. 'It is full ! No more will go in !' the scholar said. 'Like this cup,' the teacher said, 'you are full of your own opinions. How can I teach you about Zen unless you first empty yourself ?' "

Photo gives face to Anne Frank's "one true love"

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - A photograph of the boy with the "beautiful brown eyes" who Anne Frank recalled as her "one true love" in the diary she wrote whilst in hiding in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands is to go on display in Amsterdam
The photo of Peter Schiff was donated to the Anne Frank museum by his former childhood friend Ernst Michaelis who realized after rereading Anne's diary recently there were no known pictures of Schiff, a museum spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
Frank's Jewish family fled Nazi Germany in 1933 and settled in Amsterdam. During World War Two the Nazis occupied the Netherlands and began deporting Jews to the death camps in 1942, prompting the Frank family to go into hiding.
They lived in a secret annex in a canal-side house for more than two years before their hiding place was betrayed and the family sent to concentration camps.
Anne recorded her years in the attic hideaway in her diaries. A Dutch woman who helped the family found them in the annex after Anne's arrest and gave them to her father Otto who survived the Holocaust. They became famous around the world.
She writes in her diary: "I forgot that I haven't yet told you the story of my one true love."
"Peter was the ideal boy: tall, slim and good-looking, with a serious, quiet and intelligent face," Anne wrote of the 13-year-old she had fallen for in 1940 when she was just 11.
SCHOOL FRIENDS
They would collect each other from school and walk hand in hand through their local neighborhood.
"He had dark hair, beautiful brown eyes, ruddy cheeks and a nicely pointed nose. I was crazy about his smile, which made him look so boyish and mischievous."
Peter later died in Auschwitz, while Anne died in Bergen Belsen concentration camp in 1945.
Michaelis, now 81, had attended a Jewish school with Schiff in Berlin in the 1930s before both families fled the Nazis. When they parted, the boys exchanged photographs.
"He read the diary in the 1950s and thought that Peter Schiff was very likely his friend. But it was only when reading it later that he saw there were no photos and so he contacted us," said a museum spokeswoman.
Anne last saw Peter a few days before she moved into the annexe, but wrote of him in her diary more than 1-1/2 years later after dreaming of him.
"I've never had such a clear mental image of him. I don't need a photograph, I can see him oh so well," she said.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalaam's speech in Hyderabad

"I have three visions for India. In 3000 years of our history, people from all over the world have come and invaded us, captured our lands, conquered our minds. From Alexander onwards, The Greeks, the Turks, the Moguls, the Portuguese, the British, the French, the Dutch, all of them came and looted us, took over what was ours. Yet we have not done this to any other nation. We have not conquered anyone. We have not grabbed their land, their culture, their history and Tried to enforce our way of life on them. Why? Because we respect the freedom of others.
That is why my first vision is that of FREEDOM. I believe that India got its first vision of this in 1857, when we started the war of Independence. It is this freedom that we must protect and nurture and build on. If we are not free, no one will respect us.
My second vision for India's DEVELOPMENT, For fifty years we have been A developing nation. It is time we see ourselves as a developed nation. We are among top 5 nations of the world in terms of GDP. We have 10 percent growth rate in most areas. Our poverty levels are falling. Our achievements are being globally recognized today. Yet we lack the self-confidence to see ourselves as a developed nation, self-reliant and self-assured. Isn't this incorrect?
I have a THIRD vision. India must stand up to the world. Because I believe that, unless India stands up to the world, no one will respect us. Only strength respects strength. We must be strong not only as a military power but also as an economic power. Both must go hand-in-hand. My good fortune was to have worked with three great minds. Dr. Vikram Sarabhai of the Dept. of space, Professor Satish Dhawan, who succeeded him and Dr.Brahm Prakash, father of nuclear material. I was lucky to have worked with all three of them closely and consider this the great opportunity of my life.
I see four milestones in my career:
Twenty years I spent in ISRO. I was given the opportunity to be the project director for India's first satellite launch vehicle, SLV3. The one that launched Rohini. These years played a very important role in my life of Scientist. After my ISRO years, I joined DRDO and got a chance to be the part of India's guided missile program. It was my second bliss when Agni met its mission requirements in 1994.
The Dept. of Atomic Energy and DRDO had this tremendous partnership in the recent nuclear tests, on May 11 and 13. This was the third bliss. The joy of participating with my team in these nuclear tests and proving to the world that India can make it, that we are no longer a developing nation but one of them. It made me feel very proud as an Indian. The fact that we have now developed for Agni a re-entry structure, for which we have developed this new material. A Very light material called carbon-carbon.
One day an orthopedic surgeon from Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences visited my laboratory. He lifted the material and found it so light that he took me to his hospital and showed me his patients. There were these little girls and boys with heavy metallic calipers weighing over three Kg. each, dragging their feet around.
He said to me: Please remove the pain of my patients. In three weeks, we made these Floor reaction Orthosis 300-gram calipers and took them to the orthopedic center. The children didn't believe their eyes. From dragging around a three kg. load on their legs, they could now move around! Their parents had tears in their eyes. That was my fourth bliss!
Why is the media here so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?
We are the first in milk production. We are number one in Remote sensing satellites. We are the second largest producer of wheat. We are the second largest producer of rice.Look at Dr. Sudarshan, he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters.
I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert land into an orchid and a granary.
It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news. In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime. Why are we so NEGATIVE?
Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign TVs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology. Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance? I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is. She replied: I want to live in a developed India. For her, you and I will have to build this developed India. You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation; it is a highly developed nation.
Do you have 10 minutes? Allow me to come back with a vengeance. Got 10 minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours.
YOU say that our government is inefficient.YOU say that our laws are too old.YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke, the airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.YOU say, say and say.
What do YOU do about it? Take a person on his way to Singapore. Give him a name - YOURS.
Give him a face - YOURS. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best.
In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores. YOU are as proud of their Underground Links as they are. You pay $5(approx. Rs.60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM. YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity. In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai. YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah. YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds (Rs.650) a month to, "see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else."
YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, "Jaanta hai sala main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost." YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand. Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo? Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston? We are still talking of the same YOU. YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same here in India?
Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay, Mr. Tinaikar, had a point to make. "Rich people's dogs are walked on the streets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place," he said." And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame the authorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect the officers to do? Go down with broom every time their dog feels the pressure in his bowels? In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan. Will the Indian citizen do that here?" He's right. We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility. We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.
We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity. This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public. When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child and others, we make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? 'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.'
So who's going to change the system? What does a system consist of? Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbors, other households, other cities, other communities and the government. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr. Clean to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away. Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England. When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government.
Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience is mortgaged to money.

Dear Indians,
The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a great deal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too....
I am echoing J. F. Kennedy's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians.....
"ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHAT AMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY"
Lets do what India needs from us.
Thank youAbdul Kalaam

http://www.ted.com

India is fast becoming a superpower, says Shashi Tharoor -- not just through trade and politics, but through "soft" power, its ability to share its culture with the world through food, music, technology, Bollywood. He argues that in the long run it's not the size of the army that matters as much as a country's ability to influence the world's hearts and minds.

Clay In the Potter's Hands

A beautiful evening in Santa Monica beach in California. There I saw a Chinese man doing something special. He was a Face Maker. He can make the image of your face in clay. What you need is Twenty Minutes and Twenty Dollars. I was delighted in his artwork and asked him to make the image of my face. He asked me to sit in front of him quiet and still for twenty minutes. That was hard for me. My mind was still active and some thoughts passed through my mind. I remembered the Creation Picture in The Bible. God created man in His Own Image and gave him lots of Blessings. Man destroyed those privilages by committing sins. But still God's Mercy is protecting us from all kinds of dangers. Then I remembered a scene from The Book of Prophet Jeremiah in the Old Testament. The Lord send Jeremiah to a potter's house. There Jeremiah saw a potter working at his wheel. Whenever a piece of pottery turned out imperfect, he would take the clay and make it into something else. Then The Lord said to Jeremiah " Haven't I the right to do with you people of Israel what the potter did with the clay ? "Look at that lady. Her movements have rhythm and beauty. We need rhythm, order and beauty for our lives.Let the Good Lord, Who give rhythm, order and perfection be praised and glorified.

Amazing Grace Lyrics

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
and mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
a life of joy and peace.

When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
I Feel The Earth Move Under My Feet....

Life is Strange.....

by
When you really
lookYou won't see any
When you don't want any
You will see many
I looked for a girl to share my life
I didn't see anyone to love me
I wandered every where
No one around that I would like to have
Now I stopped looking
I can see many attractive figures available
I am confused who would be good for me
I need time to get into a conclusion
Life is very mysterious
Strange things happens sometimes
When you've nothing you get nothing
When you've abundance you get more

Don't Try Anything On Him...

by

Let him stay on in his tiny little world
He is not a kid anymore
But in heart he is smaller than an infant
He can't grow anymore, don't push him to grow
A Tree, a Leaf, a Star, a House
That's what he knows
His brain can't contain more than that
So don't push more garbage into it
If you want to know more
And enlarge your brain, do it
Don't just try to make him different
Let him remain what he really is
Even the litlle world he knows
He find it great and hard to understand
Give him a chance to familiarise with it
Until then don't try anything on him.

Hugs and Kisses
by

Hugs and kisses
Not drugs and treatments
That's what I want
Nothing else I need
Give it if you can
If not go away
I don't need your advice
I like the actions
Don't waste the time
Time is precious
Act now and rest tomorrow
Then you work everyday
Hug tight and kiss deep
Stay on it for a while
Until you satisfied
Then do it again for another turn

That's a long walk
Written by: Jose Stephen
A strange old lady stopped in front of me
With a deep sigh she said, " It's a long walk "
One more sigh and one more minute of rest
She continued her walk

Who knows it is for another long or short walk ?
Who knows when she can make another stop ?
An old couple came and stood besides me
I saw weary feelings in their eyes

How long they travelled before they got this break ?
Where do they move after this rest ?
How far they have to walk and take small intervals
Before they get everlasting rest in peace ?

Another old man came and greeted the couple
How are you ?...... long time no see......
Glad to see you again....... how's life ?
Sorry, I have to rush
See you again if God wills
Take care ....have a safe trip home
He moved fast towards his destination
I wish he get there safe
People are coming and going
Resting for a short while and keep moving
You see movements everywhere
Movements give life to everything
Seeing from Upstairs and Downstairs.......

She is on downstairs worrying about her man
He is on upstairs busy with other girls
To her he is the perfect lover
To him she is just the one among the many

Her world rolls around his thoughts
Her days are colorful like rainbows
Her world was such a tiny one
She never knew she lived in illusions

His world is big enough
To hold all the pretty girls
He never cried for losing one
When he lose one he gets two other new ones

She never tried to cheat her man
Even in her wild dreams she was a virgin
He is smart enough to convince everyone
He doesn't have any other girls

She is very innocent and faithful
She thinks his man is faithful too
Every minutes in his life is joyful
Every time he had someone with him

She prayed hard for his well being
She thanked God for giving him
He prayed everyday for more fresh girls
He thanked God for hearing his prayer

Her world is so small
It can hardly hold her and her man alone
She never saw the outside world
I wish she can see what's really happening...

Bipolar Oh ! Bipolar

Written by: Jose Stephen

Bipolar Oh ! bipolar
They called me bipolar
I am up in the heaven for one day
Next day I am down in the hell

No middle ground for me
No life on earth for me
I am the happiest human being for a minuite
I am the most miserable creature next moment

My moods changed as fast as a supersonic flight
I can't predict my own behavior
Everyone asked me why am I doing so?
Nobody can depend on me and so am I

How can I be normal like others ?
I don't want to be just laughing at a time
And I don't want to be just crying at another time
I want to have both in my life when it is needed

I don't want to have a great sence of belonging one time
And a terrible loneliness next moment
I want to have a tranquility of mind
I also need courage to face what life offers me

I want to be loved by someone
And hated by someone else
I want both these feelings at the same time
Then I can be happy and sad at same time
Follow like a Shadow

Written by: Jose Stephen

Remember ! I will follow you like a shadow
Because I love you so much
I am a shadow because you don't want to see me otherwise
I am a shadow because I don't want to be separate from you

I will follow you wherever you go
I will be in heaven if you go there
I will be in hell if you are there
Better stay on earth so I can stay here too

Your happiness are mine too
Your sorrows makes me cry
I know you don't want to share your feelings to me
But I feel the same way even before you feel anything

I wish you walk on the light always
Then I can exist for ever
I don't know shadow can exist on darkness
Don't ever choose darkness just to destroy me

Whenever you looked back you saw me standing there
You turned away your face and moved away with hatred
I followed you as fast as you ran away
Still my mind was filled with pure love

When you climb the ladder of success
I will be there to congratulate you
If you ever fall and weep
You will hear my soothing voice

Why shadow has different feelings now ?
In terms of love and hatred shadow can only love
Thank God for creating shadows
If not how could've I follow you ?

My final words.....
Don't ever try to run away.....
You can't be the real you...
Without your own shadow.......

I Think You Are The Cheap And Not Me ...
Written by: Jose Stephen
Showing me the expensive bangle on her wrist
She asked, "Will you buy me something like this ? "
If you do, you can take me out again
What do you say ' Yes ' or ' No ' ?

Looking at the bangle I knew it cost a lot
To take her out for a hot date
One day a bangle, another day a necklace
Her needs will never end until my pocket is empty

I managed to get a fake smile on my face
I saw another fake smile on her crooked face
I knew money is the only reason for this date
Her eyes are not on my face but on the bulged wallet

It won't last long and it's unhealthy
I told to myself without thinking twice
Somehow I happend to control myself
I just said, " You get nothing when you come with me ".

Her response was so quick,"You are so cheap "
I had a hysteric laugh inside me
I said loud to her , "I think you are the cheap and not me" '
"You know why? You come for something and not for Love "

I am not looking for that kind of date
It is easy to get and I don't need it
She tried to change the topic, "I was just kidding you"
I knew it is a lie and I put a full stop on that relationship.

Your Kingdom Come

by

Where can I find peace?
The world is so divided
I see miseries all over
Sorrow filled Hearts
Explosions of bombs
Hijacking of flights
People running for their lives
Fear leads to despair
Anxiety roars like Tsunami
Depression in suppressed minds
sleepless nights, nightmares
Give me something to sleep
Tomorrow scares me
I fear to see another day
Wake up is a hard task
How long this will go on?
Lord, bring Your kingdom down here
Let us be your sons and daughters

Between You and the Whole World

by
Jose Pinto Stephen

If I get a chance to choose
Between you and the whole world
I would prefer you
Than the whole world in its glory
That much I love you
You won't believe it now
But it is the fact
I don't know how to prove it
Time may prove it later
I wish it won't be too late
If it happen right now
I would be the happiest person
Just you and me
Nothing else I want
We will create a new world
A world filled with love
No hatred and no stress
No one to bother us again
I will see me in you
You will see you in me
There won't be you and me anymore
We will become one and only one

We are in the same boat"

" No...We are in different boats..,

We are in different boats..."

Yes...We are in different boats

My boat is floating

Your boat is sinking

I will survive and you will die

May be you are right

Your boat is still floating

But it is floating to nowhere

You will end up nowhere

My boat is sinking

It is sinking after I landed ashore

On the shore I am safe

I will live here for ever and ever.

Dreamers

No! Please go away
I can't kiss you good-bye
I scare the reality
I love the fantasy
Reality is hard to take
Dreams are easy to make
I already gave you farewell
In reality I will miss you very much
But in my dreams you will always stay
I wish you all the best that God can give
Go away with a smiling face
Don't ever look back and cry
Your career, happiness and achievements
Think about it and smile
I know you don't hate me
You love me as I love you
In reality you have to act differently
I guess in your dreams you are different too

Background RELEASE 01
Introduction to the MESSY Affair
August 18, 2009 New Delhi
Anand Jon has become the symbol of the innocent man fighting for truth and justice. The Anand Jon affair has become the prime example of one of the worst cases of prosecutorial misconduct and racism of the century.
"We trust the court will do the right thing and grant a new trial and Anand Jon will be exonerated and an innocent man will finally go home to his family." –Lenny Levine, Anand Jon’s Defense Attorney
Against all odds, Anand Jon, a South Asian/colored, straight young man, was steadily ascending to become the "Next Big Thing" with numerous accolades and awards such as "Rising Star" Asia Society 06, "Best New Designer," Fashion Week of Americas 03 and "Designer of the Year," 05 from Vancouver Fashion Week. Along with his circle of next generation high profile friends and clients, Anand Jon found his own budding celebrity designer status thrust into the limelight and inevitably into the gossip columns.
As a result his personal life, who he was dating, if he was gay?, and the perceived image of a flamboyant lifestyle all became tabloid fodder highlighting the spiciest buzz whether they were true or not. Though relatively harmless this unfortunately began to distract and somehow overshadow his true talent as a artist and businessman, being the first of a kind young colored man that had risen to the top of the high fashion world.
Anand Jon’s frequent TV exposure on shows like Americas Next Top Model, VH1, E!, and MTV all contributed to building a phenomenon who never lost track of his roots and values. The Anand Jon brand name was further progressed by multimillion dollar evaluations by Wall Street. Unfortunately with the arrival of the big money and high profile status there were drastic side effects as well. Not surprisingly around the same time a series of extortion attempts and threats exploded which was initially a conspiracy from within his own close knit circle. Their open adoration transformed from love to hate when they didn’t get what they wanted. These were mostly rejected, scorned women and some disgruntled business partners that were motivated by greed, scorn and revenge (primarily via a vicious online assassination campaign). Investigation showed personal relationships between some of these scorned women and government agents investigating the case. This suspicious activity escalated these groupies and gossip-gone-wild "stories" into the most ridiculous basis for criminal allegations.
Despite all the evidence and witnesses clearly pointing to his innocence Anand Jon was arrested and has been locked up in solitary confinement for over two years simply based upon these bizarre and highly improbable stories that borderline on paranoid science fiction.
As the absurdity of allegations and astounding amounts of exculpatory evidence (showing the obvious motives, the conspiracy and in turn his innocence) surfaced, rather than dismissing the charges, the overzealous prosecutors did exactly the opposite to take advantage of this high- profile opportunity. "Violent crimes," they preached to the New York Times and went on to methodically orchestrate a negative media hysteria while pressuring other jurisdictions and denying Anand Jon bail violating his basic civil rights! Six months later the prosecutors admitted and recanted "No weapons, No violence, and No injuries," while a year later they dropped the majority of the charges while almost all the so called victims and witnesses "vanished."
While the prosecutions bad character propaganda included calling him "Fallen angel" and accused him of "narcissism and arrogance" (neither of which are criminal) it exposed the startling personal malice and prejudice of the very foundation of the case and its tainted investigation. Also exposed was the severe tampering with and destruction of evidence, witness coaxing and intimidating, manipulating and missing exculpatory evidence favorable to Anand Jon. The prosecution displayed its blatant abuse of power with absolutely no consequences.
Is Brown The New Black?
Both the government agents and the "so called victims" were exposed to have made vile racial jokes/ comments including "India head" and "curry smelling dick." Anand Jon has held steadfast to his innocence and already beaten a whopping 43 counts. The one and only remaining forcible rape count has not only turned out to be "NEGATIVE" in a rape kit test, and "no signs of trauma, injuries, use of force or assault related findings" (…verified by the prosecution’s own expert witness Dr. Schulman). In fact, to further scientifically and irrefutably prove his innocence, Anand Jon went on to take and pass a polygraph/ lie detector test. (95% accurate!)
By their own stories the victims qualify for all the motives and post incident behavior that are red flags for false allegations as per the prosecution’s own expert witness.
"He was attractive, successful, charming, and I was interested in a relationship with him. We all admitted that we were in romantic relationships with him and hated the fact that he was always looking for new girls." I was mad cause he did not teach me the new karma sutra positions" -Lauren Elise Quinn, December 2006, [written statement] - not an alleged victim anywhere, but started the conspiracy
"I didn’t put my clothes back on because I thought it would be rude." – Stacey F during a lingerie casting, where she "just wouldn’t leave" (for 2 hours), sworn testimony under oath
"I wanna sue him for all the money" – Lori B December 2006, written statement
"He was charming and I was impressed." "He was kind and like a good friend, not a threat. He taught me how to do ab(dominal) crunches…." –Holly Gavel right after her alleged "drugged brutal attack" Holly G moved in paying $900/month rent. [Sworn testimony]
"Never saw or heard anyone upset, crying or screaming. Never saw any illegal substances." - admits both Lori B and Holly Gavel [sworn testimony].
"The DA told me it was fine (to lie under oath); people do stupid things under stress." "I know there were drugs because the DA told me they found drugs in his apartment." – Holly Gavel chats with Lauren Boyette [written statement]
"I went in his bedroom got naked and laid in his bed with him cause I thought he was gay." - Tara S [sworn testimony]
"I thought he said he was part of the mafia." – Kristy W. [sworn testimony]
"He had not raped me or anything like that. But it was the verbal abuse that made me feel awful." -Katie W. interview with lead detective George Elwell. Over a dozen charges were filed in NY and LA after this interview [recorded statement] – all charges in LA were eventually dropped
"I thought he was charming and I planned a romantic weekend." – Britny O. [written statement]
"The DA implanted the drug idea in my head." "I did not think anything that happened between Anand Jon and I was illegal, the DA told me I was a victim and to file charges." – Britny O [testimony under oath] – all charges by her were beaten
"Hi Babe. Miss You. Can’t wait to see you XOXO"- Jessie Marie B personal email before changing her story claiming her relationship was "strictly professional" [written email statement]
"I thought it was cool I was getting to model his clothes." "I was confused. It still had not come to me what had happened." – Jessie Marie B, 9 hours after her "alleged incident". Numerous witnesses were present who confirm her being "in a happy and giddy mood" and even asked Anand Jon " for free pairs of jeans".[sworn testimony]
"No violence, no injuries, no weapons" admits prosecution November 2007 recanting their initial statements or supposed violent crimes
"The arrogance and narcissism of someone who believes the rules do not apply to them" – states a venom spiting prosecutor filled with personal malice against Anand Jon. [Note: if arrogance and narcissism even if true were illegal characteristics most of Hollywood would be in jail.]
"No sign of or any use of force. No threats, no violence, no injuries," verifies prosecution’s lead medical examiner Dr. Shulmann testifying under oath Oct 2008
These same women continued to travel, move in as paying roommates, attend events and pose on the red carpet with Anand Jon AFTER their "incidents". Despite these women saying these above quotes and all the evidence pointing to Anand Jon’s innocence they still filed charges. (…or admit they were coaxed and pressured to file charges.)
Lauren Boyette testified March 27, 2009 that Holly G asked her (along with several other women) to file false allegations against Anand Jon while Detective Elwell offered deals to the women in exchange for their testimony against Anand Jon.
The astounding lies under oath/ perjury that was exposed shattered the pristine image of the so called victims. The prosecutors claimed the women to be "naïve, helpless, small town women who don’t know each other and had no motives." Nothing could be further from the truth as the prosecution intentionally with held and hid their shocking pasts, scandalous lifestyles and illegal activities/criminal records. The "small towns" these so called victims came from may be "Sodom and Gomorrah" as the facts show most involved in extortion, theft, previous false allegations, illegal drug use and distribution, violence, mental instability and working in the porn industry and as escorts and prostitutes. Also turns out almost all of them knew each other very well, communicated extensively and even scripted with each other, sold media stories and met with civil lawyers together. What makes it worse is that the prosecution was aware of much of this and still chose to let these women off the hook and encourage them to accomplish their own agenda- which is one of the worst examples of prosecutorial misconduct, not to mention; wasting millions of tax payers’ dollars.
While the prosecution’s "self-described paramilitary organization" has gotten away so far with this disturbing magnitude of prosecutorial misconduct, it is high time to hold them accountable for this blatant abuse of power. You or your loved one could be their next target, celebrity or not, and the chances are much higher if the individual happens to be colored. Truth and justice must be reinstated and for starters this prosecution needs to be removed, independently investigated, while Anand Jon needs to be given a fair bail and a fair trial immediately.
